List of Smartphones & Operating Systems That Can't Use WhatsApp in 2020

The messaging application for WhatsApp Messenger smartphones will stop functioning on a number of older mobile devices on Android or iOS. Some devices will no longer be able to use WhatsApp after 31 December 2019.

Last year, the communication company acquired by Facebook had turned off support for Windows Phone 8.0, BlackBerry OS and Blackberry 10.

WhatsApp has confirmed that Nokia S40 series phones will stop running the messaging application. The following is a list of cellphones and operating systems that are no longer supported by WhatsApp:

1. Nokia S40.

2. Android version 2.3.7 Gingerbread and previous versions until February 1, 2020.

3. iOS 7 and previous versions until February 1, 2020.

With this information, the company which is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, USA is advising its users to update the operating system that is on their mobile devices.

Some operating systems that need to be updated are Android OS 4.0 and above, iPhone iOS 8 and above, and Windows Phone 8.1 and above.

Decisions made by WhatsApp are not easy decisions. The company recognizes that what was agreed upon was a difficult decision.
